So I did IT at school, so that’s Information Technology. So I’m working with computers basically. How to un-, how to run them, how to work specific programs on them and generally how to communicate with the wider world through computers.
So, I chose to do an apprenticeship because … I don’t really work too well with exams or that sort of sit-down-and-learning style. I learn a lot better by working and by doing things. So apprenticeships seemed perfect for me cos I learn by working in a business. And for me, what I’m doing now is great for my future because I’ve always had a dream of opening a small coffee shop. So learning how to run a business off a really large scale like I am now is great for when I get older and when I get enough money to open a smaller business and I can run that well.
When I open my coffee shop, I’d probably open it here, in Norwich, because I have so many friends and people who would … who I would call my family here. So they’re so connected to me that no matter what happens, they’d stand by me and stand by the choices that I’d make. Whereas I wouldn’t have that sort of connection with people back in Africa. So, while I still will hold on to my African roots, I’ll stay here and live out my dream in Norwich.
